Hub Funding
The Delta Coral Large-area Imaging Hub was established through a grant from the Delta Electronics Foundation. By fostering partnerships between academia, industry, and coral reef stakeholders, the Delta Electronics Foundation is helping expand access to advanced reef monitoring tools and training. We sincerely appreciate their commitment to building long-term capacity for coral reef research and stewardship.

The Hub Team
The Delta Coral LAI Hub Team is comprised of staff and students from the McRae Marine Ecology Lab at National Sun Yat-sen University in southern Taiwan. Our team has hands-on experience with each stage of the LAI workflow and can answer your questions and provide guidance in both English and Chinese. Whether you are an LAI pro or are just getting started, we are happy to help you along your LAI journey!

Dr. Crystal McRae
Director
Crystal is an Assistant Professor at National Sun Yat-sen University in southern Taiwan. Her research focuses on coral ecology with an emphasis on climate change impacts and resilience.

Mr. Hong-Ying Jian
Hub Support Staff
Hong-Ying (Peter) is an undergraduate student in the McRae Marine Ecology lab. His research focuses on quantifying and comparing coral heat-stress responses in the lab and field.

Ms. Chian Shiun Hu
Manager
Chian Shiun (Jessie) is a lab assistant in the McRae Marine Ecology Lab at National Sun Yat-sen University. She is a SCUBA diver and freediver with research experience in Taiwan and offshore islands.

Ms. Theres Koch
Hub Support Staff
Theres is an incoming PhD student in the McRae Marine Ecology Lab. Her work will actively explore thermal tolerance mechanisms across a wide array of coral reef environments in Taiwan.

Mr. Chinmay Somani
Hub Support Staff
Chinmay is a PhD student in the McRae Marine Ecology Lab at National Sun Yat-sen University. His research focuses on the reproductive and recruitment dynamics of corals under climate change.

Ms. Jia-Rong Wu
Hub Support Staff
Jia-Rong (Rose) is an incoming Masters student in the McRae Marine Ecology Lab. She is interested in studying the impacts of crown-of-thorns starfish and their management on corals.
Hub Collaborators
Key collaborators of the Delta Coral Large-area Imaging Hub are members of Professor Stuart Sandin's lab at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Through their training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, our team has gained valuable insight into large-area imaging workflow best practices. We are grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to advancing large-area imaging in Taiwan.
